Stanley goes to work.
I had to go to work the day after Stanley arrived, so I took him with me. I work at Alaska Airlines headquarters in Seattle. I showed Stanley around and introduced him to all kinds of people that work there, like the people that print the paychecks and the people that figure out how much flights cost. I work on computer programs that help people retire.

Weekend Starts
Finally the weekend was here and we had beautiful weather to go outside and explore. It rains a lot in Seattle, but that just makes it all the nicer when the sun comes out.

Introducing the Space Needle
Well, here it is. The most famous building in Seattle. It's called the Space Needle. Looks like something from outerspace doesn't it. It was built for the 1962 World's Fair. Since then more than 45 million people have visited the observation deck and restaurant 500 feet above the ground.

The baseball team in Seattle is called the Mariners
A Mariner is a person who drives or works on a boat. Seattle is surrounded by water and is famous for it passenger and car ferries that transport people to islands that have no bridges to get to them. Seattle has a very large shipping port welcoming very big ships carrying all kinds of things from China and other Asia countries. In the summer time, cruise ships take passengers to Alaska. Seattle is also famous for ship building. So Mariners is a good name for the baseball team don't you think?

Here's another picture of the space needle. The restaurant at the top slowly spins around while you're eating so you can see in every direction during your meal.
